About Me
Professional Background
Tamara is a Registered Psychologist with dual endorsement in Clinical Psychology and Sport & Exercise Psychology, with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals in high-performance and demanding environments.
With a foundational background in Biomedical Science and a specialisation in Physiology, Tamara offers a distinct performance psychology approach informed by a deep understanding of how the brain and body respond to stress, pressure, and training demands.
Her work focuses on the factors that directly influence performance, including anxiety, confidence, focus, resilience, injury, recovery, and the physiological impact of stress. She works from the principle that sustainable performance is built through the alignment of psychological skills, nervous system regulation, and physical functioning.
Tamara has worked with athletes and performers across multiple sporting codes and competitive levels.
Sporting Background
Tamara’s background in competitive gymnastics provides her with firsthand insight into the psychological demands of performance-based environments.
Having trained and competed in a sport where precision, discipline, pressure, and constant evaluation are central, she understands the internal experiences athletes often navigate — including performance anxiety, fear of mistakes, perfectionism, confidence fluctuations, and the mental load of training and competition.
This lived experience informs her practical, athlete-centred approach. Tamara recognises that behind every performance are complex interactions between mindset, nervous system responses, physical readiness, expectations, and identity.
Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the realities of high-performance sport — the pressure to perform, the impact of setbacks and injury, and the ongoing challenge of sustaining confidence and motivation.
